'We are the Laboratory of the County'

Doctors use "lab work" to help them diagnose medical conditions and monitor diseases. Medical technologists test samples of blood, urine, or body tissues and report the results to the physician.
 
They keep the laboratory operational 24 hours a day under strict protocols for safety and accuracy.
 
"We are the laboratory of the county," says Kelvin McMillan, laboratory services director. We serve patients of the clinic, hospital, and emergency room, and travel to work sites that have wellness programs."
 
Three of the laboratory's valued coworkers are shown below.
 

Carla Brown, Phlebotomist. Is the lab

2013. With 25 years of experience in
the field of laboratory services, she is
skilled at making patients comfortable
and at ease.
 
  
Dunhill Casipong, AMT (left) Joined the hospital in 2009. Is a licensed medical 
technologist and also holds a bachelor degree. Marvels at the constant
innovation in testing technology, which is producing fast, accurate results
for patients and minimizing the testers' exposure to harmful substances. 
 
Gay Galano, AMT(right) Celebrating 10th anniversary of her wedding and her
career with Mercy Health/Love County. "This is my second home, where
people are friendly and have good hearts." She holds a bachelor degree and
licensure as an American Medical Technologist. Always aspired to be in the
laboratory services field. "It is never boring. Doctors can't diagnose without the
laboratory."
