A one-year program, qualifying graduates to sit for the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license, is at Southern Oklahoma Technology Center in Ardmore. A two-year (associate degree) program, qualifying graduates to sit for the Registered Nurse (RN) license, is at Murray State College in Tishomingo. A four-year (bachelor degree) program leading to RN licensure and more is at East Central University in Ada and Ardmore. In Texas, North Central Texas College (Gainesville) and Grayson County College (Denison) train Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) and each also offers an LVN-RN fast-track associate degree program.
Jan Marutzsky, RN Hard work is no
deterrent for this charge nurse, who
logged 16 years in oil well drilling
and production before entering
nursing school at Murray State
College. An RN since 1996, she
gained experience in home health
and surgical nursing in Ardmore,
then joined our hospital in 2007.
Angela Caudle, RN (left) At the hospital since 2010, this charge nurse has
extensive experience (21 years) in home health, private duty, and emergency
room nursing. Graduated from Grayson County College (LVN) and Murray
State College (RN), the latter in 2000. Her great-grandparents, Frank and
Lillia Shellenberger, donated the 10 acres on which the hospital was built
(1972).
